SNG Part II - Day 4

As it was inevitable to happen, the unfortunate breaks came yesterday. That's OK as I had been a little fortunate in few earlier ones... I know that I will experience both. Again, as Raymer said... it's decisions, not results that matter... Anyway, here are the numbers:

  1. 10th - AA lost to A6s.. flopped flush.. I should never have pushed... bad decision. I thought that he was on a draw..
  2. 10th - AQ lost to 99 w/ Ace on board... he got 4 card flush... Is anybody else not surprised that I lost with AQ?
  3. 2nd - 88 lost to 99
  4. 6th - KQs lost to A9
  5. 4th - KQs lost K9. This one hurt as I got my flush; but he his boat on river.

I still feel that I am playing OK. I had an interesting hand come up last night and I was curious to see how others would have played it..

It was very early in the SNG as the blinds are still 10/15 and we all have about 1000 chips. I have not had time to make reads on anybody... I have A3 of clubs in the BB... UTG does a 3x raise to 45.. UTG +2 calls as does SB and myself. Flop comes 3h4c5c giving me bottom pair with a straight flush draw. SB checks, I check.. UTG raiser puts in a 200 bet (about the pot)... UTG+2 doubles that to 400... SB folds... What do you do?

I will update with results later today.

I think, under the circumstances, I push all-in. You've got club outs, the 2's out there might help you, and even the Aces out there might help you. Let's just say 15 outs with 2 to come give you nearly a 50%-60% chance of taking down the pot. I'm pushing at that point. You might lose the guy who bet 200 and be solely up against the 400 guy, but either way, you need to hit one of those big outs to take it down probably so if they are both in you're probably still ok.

Now, I'm not quick on figuring out the outs and or percentages and I'm not a numbers guy when it comes to poker, so I depend alot on feel and reads, but you mention it was early and not much to read at that point.

I think I'm pushing. What did you do?

I push all-in with the nut flush draw. But I'm just a play $ kind of player.
