What are you scared of on hand 1? Maybe you go into it in your comments so I'll read after I post this comment but terrible fold in my opinion. Checkraise the flop even. I really don't care but how do you fold a set there? Hand 2... he could easily have QQ+ there. Of course he could have JJ but that's about the only cards I can see him have. If he's calling 3 bets OOP with 44 or 66, so be it.Alan aka RecessRampagehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00544791207717813141noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-26761051613015425822009-08-13T05:53:21.422-07:002009-08-13T05:53:21.422-07:00Nice discussion on Hand #1. Maybe just call, b...I'm never ever folding H1. Maybe just call, but never folding. I actually think it's even fine to value raise the river here, with the intention of raise-folding. You are underrepped and beat a bunch of 2-pair hands, AK, AJ, and a lot of bluffs.

H2 is much tougher, and I have a theory (yet to be applied - :) ) about it not ever really being that bad to fold an overpair to a check-raise by an unknown. But that theory applies more in pots with a single raise PF. Since this is a 3-bet pot, it's either JJ or you're way ahead. Since there are way more combos of QQ and KK, I think you probably should get it in here.

On H3, I like a 4-bet, and otherwise, you're play is fine. In a 3-bet pot against someone with 80BBs, I'm almost always going to the mat.noldmaxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06632933577001519894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-61474153569168712702009-08-12T12:31:25.100-07:002009-08-12T12:31:25.100-07:00Hand 1 really sucks...you should really check/rais...Hand 1 really sucks...you should really check/raise the frop. The turn card is really gross for sure, but I still don't know if I could fold the river. Folding sets is usually bad.

Hand 2 you should NOT be folding in this situation. Like ever.

Hand 3 you played fine, if he has a J or better nh. But I'd probably just 4b since vs. a 29/6 his 3-betting range is pretty tight, and if he has KK/QQ he will stack off now almost for sure whereas some scary flops either he or I will not want to get money in. Also I don't know why you think he's that aggro...4.5 AF means nothing over that few hands, as does 100% cbet...especially since cbet in non-3b pots isn't always a great predictor of cbet in 3b pots. The most reliable stats you have on him are the 29/6 ones, which aren't very aggro at all.

-bruechipsspritpothttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07840930703139677178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-3724439033077314502009-08-12T09:53:03.424-07:002009-08-12T09:53:03.424-07:00Hand 1 - Good fold. Would he really check-raise that hard with a set on the flop on a relatively draw free board? I think he has something like QQ. I suppose A-J is a possibility too. Maybe even a lower pair in his hand.

Hand 3 - I like your play here.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08837529956827141862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-70630022769483334752009-08-12T08:00:14.471-07:002009-08-12T08:00:14.471-07:00I do agree with Big D: it's much easier to loo...I do agree with Big D: it's much easier to look at a hand after the fact than during the heat of battle.

And no matter how many stats you give on an opponent, the reads you have at the time of the hand can really change how you can and should play a hand.Klopzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09601491246369039505noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-31157494753566280362009-08-12T07:54:22.932-07:002009-08-12T07:54:22.932-07:00I think what Klpozi wrote was fair enough but duri...I think what Klpozi wrote was fair enough but during the heat of battle I probably would have played it the same way you did.Big Dhttp://www.pokerheaven.com/site/poker/playpoker.htmlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-52334835892494929782009-08-12T07:32:57.554-07:002009-08-12T07:32:57.554-07:00Hand 1: I don't like the pre-flop play against...Hand 1: I don't like the pre-flop play against this particular Villain but I wasn't there so I'm not sure how good your implied odds are in this case. As for the flop play, I don't get it. Why not c/r and try to get it all in? Or make a weak lead and hope for a raise? Yep, the turn card sucks but I'd still go ahead and stick it in.

Hand 2: Not a fan of this one either. SPR is 4, you've got an overpair. You've got to ship it on this hand. Villain could be check-raising with much worse. Just shove and finish it. Or call the flop and ship the turn. But folding? Way too tight in this case. Also note that Villain is not using auto-rebuy so he's a fish.

Hand 3: Pretty standard - though I don't get the huge raise on the flop. WTF? You're ahead of everything except trips. I'd let Villain donk off his stack on the turn and river. When you raise big here, you're only getting called if Villain has a good hand or if he thinks you're bluffing. Given the histories you've put on this sight, I'm not sure that Villain puts you on a bluff here.Klopzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09601491246369039505noreply@blogger.com
