Sure you are wrong once in a while but you are way behind there far more often than not.

If you werent soooted I would even debate whether the preflop call was worth making.Hammer Player a.k.a Hoyazohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17031535857121915911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-32454178718884713862009-09-04T07:07:08.562-07:002009-09-04T07:07:08.562-07:00Don't forget that this monthly poker series is...Don't forget that this monthly poker series is all about the points. Yes, you want to cash monthly, but 7th place all year long would get you a free trip to Vegas!

Congrats on the nice finish.

And when are you going to play cash? I've never seen so many people betting huge pots with only a draw. I cashed out up $400 at the cash tables while I was waiting for Hawkette to finish (she finished 3rd in the tourney).jamyhawkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10446095034113797225noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-29865428065058175452009-09-04T04:02:12.702-07:002009-09-04T04:02:12.702-07:00This was a fairly easy fold. This was a fairly easy fold.WillWonkahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06154883018461460762noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-18272344414457168692009-09-03T11:05:07.866-07:002009-09-03T11:05:07.866-07:00This is a pretty good flop to C-bet, so his C-bett...This is a pretty good flop to C-bet, so his C-betting range is pretty wide. But it's not a great flop to barrel away as a bluff, precisely b/c it can be so hard to peel someone off of a pair of Aces. So he's either making a bad 3-barrel bluff with air, or he has something that beats you handily - AK-AJ/66/A5s/A6s. I lean towards a fold here. The board is a good one for 3-barrelling with a strong Ace, so I think that's his likely holding. If it's a bluff, it's a daring one, so just give him credit and give it up.noldmaxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06632933577001519894noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13519202.post-458951585145262192009-09-03T08:33:35.991-07:002009-09-03T08:33:35.991-07:00When you made the call with ATs pre-flop, what was...When you made the call with ATs pre-flop, what was your plan? You flop top pair on the flop and make the call. But when Villain bets on the turn, how likely are you ahead? Villain's AF is a little too high and seems to point to a fit or fold player. Would Villain be value betting worse than AT here?

When I call in position, I do so with the intention of playing a hand with good big hand potential or when I plan on stealing the hand at some point.

That's why I was wondering what your plan was in this hand. Playing for top pair value with AT against a tight player raising from EP and barreling on three streets doesn't seem all that profitable to me. If he checks the turn, you can steal or try to pick off a bluff on the river. But when a tight player three barrels, I'd expect to see the Villain showdown a better hand than TP4K.

Or am I a nit?Klopzihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09601491246369039505noreply@blogger.com
