Just a typical day

I know I haven't posted much and as is usually the case, it is because I am not playing well or at least, I am not winning. I am down way over 10 buyins this month.

I wanted to give a glimpse of how things are going these days by looking at all my big hands from last night. If you don't like hand histories, I guess you can stop here or move to the bottom where I will have a graph or two.

The summary is I started way up and moved way down and was winning at showdown at around 30% (which has been the norm this month which is actually at 28.5% for the month). Now, of course, this is NOT all bad beats; but I think you know what I mean.

BetFair

Background History of Betfair Poker

Betfair Poker is part of the Betfair Internet betting exchange, which began in 2000 and is now the largest online betting company in the United Kingdom.

Betfair made its name by booking all kinds of bets, typically on sporting events, and expanded to include poker and other online casino games as their operation became more successful.

Betfair Poker and Poker Champs

In 2005, Betfair bought PokerChamps.com so that they could have their own poker software to control. Prior to this, Betfair Poker made use of CryptoLogic software, which, along with Playtech, is the most popular type of online poker software.

Betfair Poker and the US.

Unlike many other poker sites, Betfair Poker never accepted U.S. players. Since there were based in the United Kingdom and drew traffic from many areas of Europe, Betfair felt no need to deal with the U.S. market, where the legality of online gambling was always in question.

After the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act was passed in 2006, this feeling was borne out. However, after purchasing PokerChamps, Betfair had to divest itself of all the American players that PokerChamps had accepted.

Soft games at Betfair Poker

Betfair Poker is an official sponsor of the World Series of Poker Europe, and offers satellites to WSOPE events. The history’s first WSOPE winner is now the primary ambassador of the site – Annette Obrestad of Norway who was the youngest ever winner of a WSOP bracelet when she took down WSOPE London in 2007.

If you read an the Betfair online poker room review on your favorite poker site, you might see Betfair being mentioned as one of the best poker sites when it comes to soft opposition. As a matter of fact, being a full service online betting network, Betfair is able to draw traffic from its online casino and sportsbook to its poker site.

This usually results in juicy, profitable, action-oriented poker games, as many of these players do not recognize the level of skill required to be consistently successful at poker.

This is a factor that works for your benefit. In addition, you can assure an even better edge by playing with a top poker bonus.

Shoulder Surgery and Football Season and August Graph

Sorry for the lack of posts. I had some shoulder surgery done to clean up some bone spurs or impingement's or something like that. Luckily, it wasn't rotator cuff related which should make the recovery process easier and quicker.

To tell you the truth, I am really into football right now and not much in the mood for poker. Maybe because my 20" monitor went down and i just have a little one now; but I think it mostly because of preparing for my FFL drafts and just watching football in general (both pro and college).

So in that vain, I have put a new poll which asks who you think will win the Super Bowl. I, of course, will select the Cowboys as they are the team to beat in my unbiased opinion.. NOT!!

So, I'm not sure how much poker I will play this month. We'll see how it goes.

Here is how I did in August. I had some potential; but lost a lot at the end. Here is the graph:

The graph lines show winnings and EV winnings. The lines seem to be opposite as my actual winnings was $300ish and my EV winnings were higher so I did run a little bad; but that is how it goes. I only played about 18K hands so that is lower than normal and I see that trend continuing.
Anyway, that should do it for now.
Have a nice day!!!
