Where have you been Joey D?

As usual with no posting, it is probably likely to bad and unlucky play. This game of poker is really funny. I went on an over 1K downswing and then all of a sudden things turn around. For example, the other day, I won 4 set over set situations in one session which was just the opposite of what was happening a few weeks earlier. I've about gotten back to where I was before the big downswing.

Anyway, I had this Rush Poker hand come up and I really wasn't sure what to do?

No Reads... Rush Poker...

Full Tilt Poker $0.25/$0.50 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players - http://www.thehandconverter.com/hands/595360
The Official DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter

UTG+1: $61.35
UTG+2: $52.90
MP1: $39.20
Hero (MP2): $57.00
CO: $51.85
BTN: $72.55
SB: $20.15
BB: $50.00
UTG: $117.40

Pre Flop: ($0.75) Hero is MP2 with 8d 8h
4 folds, Hero raises to $1.75, 1 fold, BTN raises to $5, 2 folds, Hero calls $3.25

Light call; but I think I am good here to set mine. I usually do a 14x type decision.

Flop: ($10.75) 6c Td 7s (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $5, Hero raises to $15, BTN raises to $67.55 all in, Hero ??

Seeemed like a weak flop bet. My original plan was to check call given the gutter and the liklihood that he is cbetting with almost all of his range. Weak bet led to my check raise. With his push, I now know that I am behind.

Seems like an easy call; but is it?

Have a nice day!!

BTW.. there is some talk of getting bloggers together for a 45 man Super Turbo. Any interest?

Not quite sure what you mean here, but I think I'm folding this. I look at the facts: he 3bet PF, and now he's 3betting you. I think the flop bet is pretty standard for Rush; it's a fairly dry board with the only draws being 8's or 9's. It is definitely a weird spazz on your V's part, but I think folding is the correct play. I put him on air like 5-10% of the time (maybe less) and TT+ far more often. If he has TT, you're drawing to 4 outs. If he has any pair above that, you're not drawing much better.

That said, I would have called behind in this kind of situation. Although you're not way ahead / way behind (2 overcards are drawing 25% equity), I am aiming for pot control. I don't want to blow this pot up to where I am put to a very tough decision (for my stack).

That said, I'm taking a note on this player (PF 3bet -> 3bet all in) and moving on...

I agree, I am folding here most of the time absent any reads on the specific hand. He's played this like he has a hand that can beat pocket 8s right from the getgo.

I really think he has an overpair here. I am not sure why you are raising here as the turn at least gives you a chance to improve your hand. Doubt he has 89 here. You need to fold to his jam I think. You missed your set so you can easily fold to his 5$ flop bet albeit that is a little weak but lacking any reads and with him showing decent strength you might want to do that with only gutter outs.
