Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good.
What does that really mean?
I guess it could mean a few things. Maybe you spiked your 2 outer on the river. Maybe your were on the good end of a set over set or Aces over Kings.
In he hand below, I was lucky in a couple ways. See below:
Full Tilt Poker $1/$2 No Limit Hold'em - 9 players - http://www.handconverter.com/hands/968842
The DeucesCracked.com Hand History Converter
Hero (BTN): $334.25
SB: $101.80
BB: $211.85
UTG: $70.80
UTG+1: $81.00
UTG+2: $255.00
MP1: $256.50
MP2: $200.00
CO: $215.45
Pre Flop: ($3.00) Hero is BTN with 5c 3c
6 folds, Hero raises to $7, SB calls $6, BB calls $5
Flop: ($21.00) 4d 6c 2s (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $21, Hero calls $21, SB folds
Turn: ($63.00) Kd (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $38, BB raises to $183.85 all in, Hero calls $145.85
River: ($430.70) 6s (2 players - 1 is all in)
Final Pot: $430.70
Hero shows 5c 3c (a straight, Six high)
BB shows As 7s (a pair of Sixes)
Hero wins $427.70
(Rake: $3.00)
Nothing like having the villain drawing dead. Yep, I would say that I was lucky.
Have a nice day!!!
