I played a couple of hands against a known regular. They were even played at the same time on different tables Sometimes when the player is a bad player, it is easier to play against as putting them on hand ranges is a little easier; but when playing against tougher players. This guy happens to my 4th biggest enemy according to PTR. He was #1 for the longest time.
Here are the hands:
Hand #1
Villain is 15/11/2.4 over 12K hands.

I don't mind calling here in position
Flop: ($12.00) Jd Th Ac (3 players)

I've got some stuff going here. Villain cbets about 61%.
Turn: ($28.00) Ks (2 players)

OK, I hit my hand. Thoughts on bet size?
River: ($66.00) Jh (2 players)
UTG+1 bets $34, Hero requests TIME, Hero ???
Does he really bluff here? He probably has to know that I have the straight. It definily looks like a value town type bet. Thoughts?
Hand #2
Same villain and the hand is happening at the same time as above.

I'm not folding. I don't really see the point of re-raising this player.
Flop: ($25.50) 3c Jd 7s (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 bets $16, Hero calls $16
I've floated a lot of hands recently to this guy and taken away on turn. Obviously, I may have the best hand here. No need to bloat pot.
Turn: ($57.50) Qc (2 players)
Hero checks, MP1 checks
Lead out? Or check raise?
River: ($57.50) 9c (2 players)
Hero ??
backdoor club gets there which I can't be too worried about. I'm certainly betting here. How much? I had two thoughts. Smallish bet around $20 to either get a call or raise (with the intent of calling) or a more standard type bet. Thoughts?
Have a nice day!!
Why all the shootings?

Hand #1 - I think that you have to call. It does look like he is value towning you, but you can't fold because he could also be making this bet with a Q.
Hand #2 - I think that I would bet $30. If he is probably just as likely to call $20 as $30.
Having played a number of hands against Virge as well, I know that in the first hand, he'd play the same way whether he, himself, has a made straight or two pair or a turned set - most of which you beat and some of which you tie. He is an aggressive raiser as well with a wide range. I think AJ would be on the outside of his range, so let's not give him credit for the Jacks full boat. AA, KK, TT, I think he's firing a second barrel on the turn, regardless. Again, he's an aggro player. Therefore, I make the crying call.
Second hand: Lead $25-30 feels like a good value bet. Don't believe you're getting a call regardless, though, given that he didn't second barrel the turn.
Hand #1: I'm on the virge er verge of calling him, so I guess I do.
verification word = hooed
On the broadway board, your hand is face up, and so is mine. You need a boat to call and AA+ to raise for value. A bet on that river is never a bluff and it's never less than broadway from a solid player. And given stack sizes and that I check/called turn instead of bet/calling it's always a boat unless something weird is going on.
The bluffing off a chop is an advanced Doyle-esque play that's in my arsenal, but it's simply not happening at pl 100 big blinds deep, if we were deep stacked, I would bet/call turn with both broadway and a set, and bet/fold turn with two pair. If I bet called I would shove ALL scare card rivers (with some frequency, not 100%) because your hand is face up and it's just impossible to call.
As played I turned my hand face up on the turn, and you beat the game by just folding river because you extracted value from me on the turn w/o the implied odds so the net result is you win b/c this will happen multiple times in our careers. You can beat the game even further by betting your whole range on the turn when checked too, and against a good player who can fold betting all blank rivers when checked too (with some frequency obviously). However, players that can fold a set is rare so make sure they are sticky enough to call turn with two pair before you go bluffing rivers.
On the QQ hand, I had you on your exact hand and was just screwing with you on the timebank to make it seem like huge bluffs actually happen at 100pl so that maybe you'd call on the boat. My flop cbet was thin against your range, basically if you were bad enough to call pre with less than QQ. IF you don't bink the turn FYL b/c you'll just be soulreading if I bet the turn which is why being OOP sucks, especially without the lead. But any tag, even someone like Sleekest, you can basically fold to 3barrels if you don't bink, but you might want to evaluate the board and see how conducive it's going to getting barreled and make your decision early instead of creating a lot of passive dead money since you're in a -EV spot check/calling or check/raising. Just remember, that unless someone is a tard you're not going to be winning your money by defending OOP with marginal hands. and QQ on that flop is marginal, and TT- is trash.
On second thought, wait to develop the bluffing part until you move up to 400nl+ lol. It's just not going to work at 100 to try to bluff people off two pair and sets.
1st hand I think is an obvious call. No way you can fold for fear of the rivered boat, but I probably don't raise there either just in case.
2nd hand I like the bet in the $30-$35 range. Possible straight on river keeps me from going too crazy and betting large, but no reason to make it easy for him to call a small bet either with what is very likely the best hand.
Maybe that's why my game needs work. I would have gone the maximum in both instances.
I was very surprised to see the everybody said to make the call on the first hand. At the end of the day, I didn't think he would bluff with a straight or lower so I folded. Virge, himself, implied that he did have the boat in his comments (thanks for the comments).
It turns out the second hand was never to be called. I bet out $34 and he folded (after I folded the other hand btw).
